The District of Evansville of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is seeking sponsors for its 14th annual Friends of the Poor® Walk to be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Sponsorship levels begin at $100, with the Title Sponsor level at $2,500. Tri-State Bearing Co., Inc. and Ashley Furniture Homestore are the primary Title Sponsors for this year’s event.
Funds raised through walk sponsorships benefit those facing financial struggles in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties. Most of the requests received by Vincentians is for assistance paying rent and utilities. Over $400,000 was provided in assistance last year alone. Over 3000 people were able to obtain clothing, furniture, and household items through vouchers to the St. Vincent de Paul Store, while the Food Pantry provided over 250 tons of food to families in need during 2020. All donations to the Evansville District Council are used to assist those in the local area.
Sponsors receive a variety of benefits and recognition at increasing sponsorship levels. From yard signs and social media posts to names and company logos on the giveaway tote bags, sponsors can be confident their giving is helping our financially struggling neighbors while letting the community know they stand in solidarity with those in need.
