The District of Evansville of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is seeking sponsors for its 17th annual Friends of the Poor® Walk to be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Sponsorship levels begin at $100, with the Title Sponsor level at $2,500.
Funds raised through walk sponsorships benefit those facing financial struggles in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties. Over $650,000 was provided in assistance last year alone to over 12,000 people. Funds help Vincentians to help their neighbors by preventing eviction, returning electricity service, avoiding water service shut off, providing clothing, needed furniture and bedding, and a myriad of other necessities. The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, the busiest in southwestern Indiana, provided a four-day supply of food to 29,000 individuals.
Friends of the Poor Walk Sponsors receive a variety of benefits and recognition at increasing sponsorship levels. From yard signs and social media posts to names and company logos on the giveaway t-shirts and tote bags, sponsors can be confident their giving is helping our financially struggling neighbors while letting the community know they stand in solidarity with those in need.
